Apple just announced the new MacBook earlier in 2015. Now, MacBook family consists of the new MacBook, the MacBook Air, and the MacBook Pro.
So, this is the new MacBook review, I divvy up with you the new MacBook main features and specs. Alright, let’s set out the new MacBook review!
The new Apple MacBook is available since April 2015, and its base model starts at $1,299, and this MacBook is the first MacBook with 3 different colors: silver, gold, and space gray, like the new iPad and the iPhone. It supports a 12 inch IPS retina display with 3 million pixels. It has an Intel Core M mobile processor inside with 8 GB of RAM and at least 256 GB flash storage. So, who is this the new MacBook for exactly? I think the new MacBook is for certain segments, like students, teachers, and writers, etc. This MacBook is for you if you meet any of these following conditions:
If you want the latest Apple product just because it’s the newest and the latest and you just got to have it, and you want the newest and the latest brand new Apple features on a laptop: (a) force touch trackpad, (b) butterfly mechanism keyboard.
If you care about looks than performance, the new MacBook is beautiful, 12-inch with Retina Display, sexy and perfect body, no doubt about it. Somebody says, “This is a machine for girls who want to look good with a gold MacBook sitting in Starbucks.”
But, please note that the new MacBook doesn’t have a backlit Apple logo that you commonly see in the rest Apple’s laptops. If you buy this laptop, you only get a reflective Apple logo with no backlit on it.
If you want something ultra portable and ultra mobile, this new MacBook is Apple’s thinnest and lightest laptop to date. Its weight just over 2 lbs, and it has a 9 hours battery life on web browsing and 10 hours of movie playback. It’s fanless utilize the Intel M processor was only consumes 5 watts of power! Which translated to less heat and ultimately means no heat pipe or fan is needed. So, it’s super mobile-able laptop!
If you are running basic applications like a web browser, email, office suites, productivity software, and anything like that which is really basic. The new MacBook has Intel Core M mobile processor, which is not very powerful at all, it made for mobile devices. You don’t expect to edit videos or photos, and you don’t expect any graphic design.
If you don’t need USB devices or other external devices, and you don’t need to charge your iPhone or iPad, and you don’t worry about not having the ability to do that or even connecting to an external monitor, because the new MacBook only has two ports, that is USB C port on one side and an audio jack on the other. Yes, the new MacBook runs on a single connection. So, you are not going to have any of those other ports, unless you have an adapter which is pretty expensive if you buy from Apple Store. This means you are going to spend a lot of money on adapters. Apple’s basic adapter which is going to need for the most simple task is $80. So, if you buy the new MacBook, you only have that one USB C port for charging, input and output. Through this USB C port, you can do both chargings and copy your data. If you want to do both (charging and copy) at the same time you should have to use some sort of adapter. In fact, you probably need multiple adapters, there is no way around this one, this is the biggest inconvenience to the new MacBook, and if you ever need a plugin, even so much as a mouse or card reader, let alone a display or anything bigger, it turns a simple elegant machine into like an octopus.
If you don’t need video call using Skype or Facetime, or you don’t need HD videos using your webcam because the new MacBook only has a 480p webcam on it, not even 720p!
If you need a laptop to mostly match with iPad, this is it. No question about it!
If most of your documents and your digital data are on the cloud system like on Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
If you have the budget for it. How much money you have? This is a very important question! The new MacBook is very expensive for what you get, it starts from $1,289 for the low performance that you get.
If you want the new OS X El Capitan that runs smooth on a slim machine and sexy body of the new MacBook. The 12-inch new MacBook comes with OS X 10.11 El Capitan. El Capitan gives some benefits, one of them: you can split MacBook screen side by side. It’s very interesting to boost your productivity.
